About The Board
At Kerin Ag, we are looking ahead to what our business will look like in the next 10 years and ensuring it continues to meet the needs of the family as a whole. We have developed a long-term plan and in 2022 established a family advisory board to ensure this plan is effectively implemented.

One reason people resist change is because they focus on what they have to give up, instead of what they have to gain
About the Structure
There are a lot of good things about a corporate structure and the biggest one for us is accountability. It was not just believing our own music – we now have to answer for all of our decisions to a board. But what did that look like given we had no aspirations to be seen or run like a corporate? It was, and always will be, about the people. It was only after the board had a deep understanding of the people that it could work on improving our business.

Consultants in the Business
We also have consultants across all areas of our business. These people don’t necessarily sit on our advisory board, but they are like our high performance coaches for the business and its people, with a role of filling those knowledge gaps and building a stronger working team. There’s plenty of talk that a problem shared is a problem solved. Along with that should always be the statement that no one of us is as smart as all of us.

The beauty of not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise and is not preceded by a period of anxiety.
